The new IdeaPad 5i Chromebook is the world’s first 16” Chromebook; it brings a new level of performance and user experience to our audience, many of whom have families.
Previously, Chromebooks may have been seen as devices for light use, but the IdeaPad 5i Chromebook seeks to challenge this assumption. No longer does our audience have to trade off features for value. The standard has been raised - bigger, better screen, a more powerful processor and a longer-lasting battery. Our film seeks to show that this new Chromebook delivers a better standard of home laptop.
Our tour is set in a stylised stage setting. We blend photo-real materials and lighting with an animation style driven by the IdeaPad's features, capabilities, and user experience. The stage uses premium materials such as stone, metal and bamboo. The lighting feels rich and adds a further dimension to the quality of 3D. Simple shapes trigger the stage to open and reveal the IdeaPad 5i Chromebook. From that point on, our action happens on this stage, but circular objects appear periodically to describe different features - such as battery charging. The circular set reveals various features and scenes and brings us closer to the device.
Some sections of the story use Google and Chromebook screens. These are animated in a simple but direct way. We’ve chosen a selection of music tracks that offer energy and a more refined and premium tone.
